Numerology is an offshoot of astrology. In the same way astrology uses your birth date, stars, and sun signs to determine your life path, numerology does the same with numbers.
What Is Numerology & How Does It Work?
The esoteric meaning of numbers has been studied by many cultures for generations. Ancient Egyptians, Hebrews, Chaldeans, and Hindus all studied numbers as a science. They believed that there are hidden meanings in numbers and that if you understand the language of numbers, you know everything from the commonplace to the divine.
While numerology is both mystical and spiritual, it has become popular because of its practical application. In numerology, the most important number is your birth date. There are two ways of determining numerological characteristics through birth date numerology.
The first method is to add up all numbers of your birth date and to continue the process of addition until you reach a one digit number. Then the characteristics associated with that number are examined to make a statement about yourself and general expectations for your life.
For example, if your date of birth is December 4, 1984, the addition approach would lead to following number:
So 2 is the number that would reveal numerological facts of the person born on the date December 4, 1984.
The second method is to simply look at the number of the day of the month in which you were born. All possible dates of months have been assigned certain traits. As an example, let’s look at the numerological details associated with birth dates from the 1st of the month to the 5th of the month:
1st Day of the Month
Number 1 people are said to be leaders. They possess strong will power and their confidence is unmatched. They can be aggressive at times.
2nd Day of the Month
Number 2 people are undoubtedly emotional and sensitive. They often fall prey to mood fluctuations.
3rd Day of the Month
Number 3 people are optimists with a sense of humor. A tough exterior hides a fear of abandonment. Number 3 will make a great parent, partner, or friend.
4th Day of the Month
Number 4 people are shy and sensitive. Many are homemakers who need a comfortable and spotless home. They’re also known to build houses.
5th Day of the Month
Number 5 people dislike authority. Relationships can be troublesome, but friendships successful. They may study alone or find others to share their views.
There is some ambiguity in these date statements. For example, two people born on 12th of April and 12th of January would share common traits according to this birth day numerology, but it’s contrary to the sun sign approach of astrology.
Synchronicity of Numbers
Many people become interested in numerology because certain numbers keep appearing in their lives. I remember seeing the number 212 constantly for several weeks. I told myself I should play the local lottery, but I didn’t and the winning number was—you guessed it—212.
Do you have certain numbers that keep recurring in your life? Numerology can help you figure out what that means.
There are many numbers beyond our birth dates that have significance—house numbers, phone numbers, vehicle numbers, etc. Since all numbers have an energetic vibration and are symbols for more complicated concepts, it makes sense to study their impact on our lives.
If you’re not having success in life, numerology can help by revealing factors that trigger positive results. If you believe that nothing is by chance, then the numbers in our lives have significance and ignoring them is to put yourself at a disadvantage.
Numerology is not difficult. You do not need to be psychic. You don’t need to be a math whiz. You only need to know how to add, and there are many good teachers willing to share their knowledge. Take a look at Lloyd Strayhorn’s beginning numerology course. It’s a self-paced course that’s ideal for beginners and you’ll have access to the videos indefinitely.
