Palmistry Basics – Fingers
Studying the fingers is part of palmistry basics. Prior to reading the palm, examine each of the fingers to see if they are short or long. While this is not always easy to gauge when you’re just starting out, keep practicing and eventually you’ll be able to assess the finger length at a glance.
The fingers are considered long if they can fold back and touch a spot at least seven-eighths of the way along the palm. Typically, there are exceptions, since some people have extremely flexible hands while others are very stiff.
Also, someone with an extremely oblong palm may have long fingers that only reach halfway down the palm, as the palm itself is very long. With experience, you’ll be able to look at someone’s palm and instantly know if the fingers are long or short.
The problems are most common when you’re first learning and find a hand with fingers that seem to be neither long nor short. We’ll cover that situation as well.
A person with short fingers is practically the opposite of a long-fingered person. This individual will be more interested in the big picture rather than the fine details and won’t have much patience.
You can surmise that a short-fingered person is always busy, and likely a jack-of-all-trades. There will be times when this person may start a new project before they’ve finished the last one.
Often, they will have several things all going at the same time. This person can be impatient and want everything right now, so patience is not a strength for them. Impulsivity has likely gotten them into trouble in the past.
Medium Length Fingers
Of course, a person with fingers that can’t be classified as short or long will be categorized with medium-length fingers. You can say this person is patient but is sometimes inclined to act first and think later.
If this type of person finds something really interesting, they want to investigate it immediately and satisfy their curiosity. If there is only mild interest, they will likely just skim over it and dismiss it.
If the fingers are long, this person pays attention to detail and you can assume they enjoy complex work, are patient, and enjoy the fine details in things. Any work they do must be consuming and gratifying. If it’s too simple, they will lose interest very quickly.
Each person will have a mix of conflicting and complementary traits. Your exploration of the hand will lead to discovering hidden talents, faults, and limitations which is the basis of self knowledge. You can’t change what you are not aware of so think of palmistry as a personal development tool.
In some religions, you need to know the name of the demon in order to defeat it.
